First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study compares two common diabetes medications, dapagliflozin and empagliflozin, to see which works better for lowering blood sugar, reducing weight, and improving overall health in people with type 2 diabetes and a high body mass index. About 112 adults will take one of the two drugs for six months, and researchers will track changes in blood sugar, weight, liver and kidney function, and cost. The goal is to help doctors choose the best treatment for Indian patients.
