Summary
This study tested whether adding pioglitazone or dapagliflozin to standard diabetes pills (alogliptin and metformin) helps control blood sugar better in people with type 2 diabetes. About 133 adults with poorly controlled diabetes took one of the two combinations for 26 weeks. The main goal was to see if the pioglitazone combo was at least as good as the dapagliflozin combo at lowering HbA1c, a key blood sugar measure.
