Bone injection vs vein injection: which works better in an airway emergency?
NCT ID NCT01486407
Summary
This study aimed to see if giving emergency drugs through a needle placed into a patient's bone marrow works as well as giving them through a standard IV in the vein when doctors need to quickly place a breathing tube. Researchers wanted to know if medical professionals found both methods equally effective for relaxing patients enough to safely insert the tube. The study was small and observational, meaning it watched and compared these two existing emergency procedures.
