Summary
This study compares two antibiotics given through a vein to treat a severe form of typhoid fever that is resistant to many drugs. About 40 people aged 1 to 70 with confirmed infection will be randomly assigned to receive either azithromycin or meropenem. The main goal is to see which drug clears the fever and bacteria from the blood faster.
