New combo attack on liver tumors shows promise for Late-Stage colon cancer
NCT ID NCT06071052
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested a combination of three treatments—drug-coated beads delivered directly to the liver (DEBIRI-TACE), chemotherapy infused into the liver artery (HAIC), and the targeted drug regorafenib—in 21 people with colorectal cancer that had spread to the liver and no longer responded to standard therapies. The goal was to see if this triple approach could shrink tumors and extend survival. The approach aims to control the disease rather than cure it, as ongoing management is still needed.
