New study tests speedy recovery plan for kids after colostomy reversal
NCT ID NCT07206836
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study compares two ways of caring for children after colostomy reversal surgery. One group follows a modern 'Enhanced Recovery After Surgery' (ERAS) plan with shorter fasting, early pain control, and early feeding. The other group receives traditional care with longer fasting and opioid pain medicine. The goal is to see if ERAS helps children leave the hospital sooner. The study will include 60 children ages 2 to 13.
