Simple pamphlet aims to guide seniors through tough colon cancer screening choices
NCT ID NCT04748380
Summary
This study tested whether a specially designed pamphlet could help older adults (ages 75-85) with low health literacy make better decisions about colorectal cancer screening. Researchers gave 60 participants either the screening pamphlet or general home safety information before doctor visits to see if it changed their screening intentions and knowledge. The goal was to understand if this simple tool could improve how patients and doctors discuss screening options together.
