Second look with a clear cap aims to catch hidden colon polyps
NCT ID NCT07261319
Summary
This study is testing if using a clear plastic cap on the end of a colonoscope helps doctors find more precancerous growths (adenomas) in the lower part of the colon. Researchers will compare a standard colonoscopy to one where the doctor takes a second, closer look at the sigmoid colon using the cap. The goal is to see if this simple tool can help prevent missed polyps and potentially reduce future colon cancer risk.
