New study tests if adding a collagen wrap improves dental implant infection surgery
NCT ID NCT07478978
First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at 44 people with peri-implantitis, a serious gum infection around dental implants that causes bone loss. Researchers compared two surgical treatments: using a bone graft alone versus using a bone graft plus a collagen membrane. They measured changes in gum pocket depth, bleeding, and bone levels to see if the collagen membrane helped improve healing.
