Summary
This study tested whether cooling the breathing tube (endotracheal tube) before placing it in the airway can reduce sore throat after surgery. 116 adults having elective surgery lasting more than an hour took part. The researchers measured how many people had a sore throat and how severe it was 1 and 4 hours after the tube was removed.
