First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a cold compression device after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair can lower the need for strong painkillers (opioids). 50 adults who had shoulder surgery were randomly assigned to either standard care or standard care plus cold compression. Researchers measured how much opioid medication each group used and how they rated their pain and sleep quality.
