Virtual reality game reveals hidden thinking struggles in MS patients

NCT ID NCT03768648

First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026

Summary

This study looked at how well thinking skills (like memory and attention) are captured by a virtual reality test compared to standard paper tests in people with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) taking the medication Aubagio. Researchers followed 75 patients and healthy volunteers for two years, using brain scans and VR tasks to see how brain damage relates to everyday thinking problems. The goal was to find better ways to detect and track cognitive issues that matter in daily life.
