One-Stop heart fix: new study tests dual procedure for AF patients
NCT ID NCT06861673
First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests doing two heart procedures at the same time in people with atrial fibrillation (AF) who are at high risk for stroke but cannot take long-term blood thinners. The first procedure uses pulse field ablation to fix the heart's electrical signals, and the second closes off a small pouch in the heart where clots often form. Researchers want to see if combining them is safe and helps keep the heart in normal rhythm after one year. About 60 adults will take part across multiple hospitals.
