Computer algorithm tries to fine-tune hearing implants
NCT ID NCT03202797
Summary
This study tested whether a computer algorithm could help find better settings for cochlear implants. Researchers worked with 9 adults who already had a cochlear implant in one ear and could hear (with or without a hearing aid) in their other ear. They used the algorithm to adjust the implant's frequency settings, hoping to improve how well participants could understand speech, especially in noisy places.
