Summary

This study is testing if a new way of setting up a cochlear implant and a hearing aid together—where their sound processing is synchronized—works better than the standard setup. It will involve 20 adults with significant hearing loss in both ears who are getting a cochlear implant for the first time. Researchers will measure if the synchronized setup helps people locate where sounds are coming from and understand speech in noisy environments more easily.
