Scientists listen in on inner ear during cochlear implant surgery

NCT ID NCT03685461

First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at how the inner ear responds to sound during and after cochlear implant surgery in 88 people with hearing loss. Researchers used CT scans and hearing tests to see where the implant sits and how much natural hearing is saved. The goal was to learn more about how well the implant works, not to test a new treatment.
