First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested two methods to numb the skin before a minor foot procedure in babies with clubfoot. One method uses a cream that takes 30 minutes to work, while the other uses a needle-free jet that numbs in 1-2 minutes. Researchers wanted to see which method provides better pain relief and safety. The study involved 107 infants and was completed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
