Staph infection drug dosing under the microscope: new study aims for precision

NCT ID NCT06848387

First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at how much cloxacillin is available in the blood when given as a continuous infusion to adults with serious staph infections. Researchers will measure the free (unbound) drug concentration to make sure it is not too high or too low. They will also create a model to predict the right dose for each person based on age, gender, kidney function, and protein levels. About 25 adults whose doctors have already decided to start this treatment will take part.
