First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested a new rapid test called CL Detect™ for diagnosing cutaneous leishmaniasis, a skin disease from sand fly bites. Researchers compared the test to the standard method (looking at samples under a microscope) in 150 adults with skin ulcers. The goal was to see how accurate the rapid test is at identifying the disease.
