Pill plus workout tested to keep older women stronger
NCT ID NCT07143305
Summary
This small, completed pilot study tested whether taking a daily citrulline malate supplement while doing a regular exercise program could improve physical function in active women aged 65 and over. Thirty-three women were randomly assigned to take either the supplement or a placebo while participating in a three-day-per-week training program. Researchers measured changes in strength, walking ability, balance, blood markers, and quality of life to see if the supplement provided any extra benefit beyond exercise alone.
