First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study compares a chitosan brush (made from natural shrimp shells) to a standard titanium tool for cleaning infected gum tissue around dental implants. Sixty adults with peri-implantitis will receive one of the two treatments. Researchers will measure gum pocket depth, bone loss, and immune markers over 12 months to see which method works better.
