Immunotherapy plus chemo shows promise against rare lung cancer

NCT ID NCT06155279

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab along with standard chemotherapy before surgery can improve outcomes for people with a rare cancer called pleural mesothelioma. About 41 adults with early-stage, treatable mesothelioma will receive the drug combination, then surgery, followed by more pembrolizumab. The main goal is to see if this approach can eliminate all cancer cells in the removed tissue.
