Can online birth classes calm fears as well as In-Person ones?
NCT ID NCT07345468
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether online childbirth classes work as well as face-to-face classes for reducing fear of childbirth and shaping birth beliefs. Fifty-eight first-time pregnant women took either online or in-person classes. Researchers measured their fear, beliefs about natural vs. medical birth, and preferred delivery method before and one month after the classes.

- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that online classes are as effective as in-person ones for reducing childbirth fear and shaping birth beliefs.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, completed study with only 58 participants, so results may not apply to all pregnant women. It also can't prove cause and effect.
