Pen vs. needle: new study aims to ease kids' dental fear

NCT ID NCT07557160

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study compares two ways of giving numbing medicine to children during dental treatment: a computer-controlled pen-like device (Dentapen) versus a traditional syringe. About 42 children aged 6-8 will take part. The goal is to see if the Dentapen reduces anxiety and keeps heart rates lower during the injection.
