Chewing gum could be key to regaining lost senses
NCT ID NCT07498062
Summary
This study tested whether a new training method using flavored chewing gum could help people recover lost or changed senses of smell and taste. Thirty adults who had experienced smell or taste problems for 3 months to 2 years tried either the gum training, traditional smell training, or waited 12 weeks. Researchers compared whether stimulating smell, taste, and mouth sensations together worked better than focusing on smell alone.
