First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether an AI chatbot can help people with hip or knee osteoarthritis feel less anxious and more confident when making treatment decisions. About 100 adults will chat with the AI before their regular surgeon visit. Researchers will measure changes in decision-related anxiety and conflict, and see if those changes relate to health literacy or symptom scores.
