New study: smart monitor may cut dangerous low blood sugar after delivery
NCT ID NCT06141941
First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether using a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) in the hospital right after childbirth could better detect low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in women with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, compared to the usual finger-stick tests. 39 women in their third trimester who owned a smart device took part. The goal was to see if CGM could reduce the number of hypoglycemic episodes during their postpartum hospital stay.
