First seen Jun 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 21, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This Phase 1 study compares a new investigational drug, CG-0255, to the standard blood thinner Plavix in 136 healthy adults aged 18-55. The goal is to see how the body absorbs and processes each drug and how well they prevent blood clotting. Participants will receive either CG-0255 (as an injection or capsule) or Plavix (as a pill) and have their blood tested over time.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

CG-0255 besylate (a prodrug similar to clopidogrel/Plavix)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could lead to a new anti-clotting drug option for people with heart conditions or stroke risk.

What could go wrong

This is an early Phase 1 study in healthy people, not patients. It only measures drug levels and platelet activity, not actual clinical outcomes like heart attacks. The drug may not work better or may have unexpected side effects.
