CF carriers may face hidden organ risks, new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT05474417

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people who carry one copy of the cystic fibrosis gene (carriers) are more likely to have early signs of kidney and pancreas problems. Researchers will compare 1250 carriers and non-carriers using blood tests, surveys, and home-collected urine and stool samples. The goal is to understand if carriers face hidden health risks beyond what is currently known.
