Neck bone volume may reveal growth milestones in teen girls
NCT ID NCT07653542
First seen Jun 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether the volume of certain neck bones (cervical vertebrae) can help determine a person's growth stage. Researchers used existing 3D X-rays (CBCT) from 131 Egyptian females aged 10-25. They measured the volume of the second, third, and fourth vertebrae and checked if it matched their skeletal maturity. This is a completed observational study, meaning it only collected data and did not test any treatment.
