Brain oxygen monitoring may cut stroke risk after artery surgery

Summary
This study looks at whether monitoring the brain's oxygen levels during carotid artery surgery can help prevent strokes. About 560 adults having this surgery will be randomly assigned to standard care or care guided by a brain oxygen monitor. The goal is to see if this approach reduces new brain injuries and confusion after surgery.
