Could a better blood pressure reading save kidneys?

NCT ID NCT05163158

First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether using a more accurate blood pressure reading (central aortic pressure) instead of the usual arm cuff could help manage high blood pressure in people with advanced chronic kidney disease. 116 adults with kidney failure took part, and researchers checked if this approach was practical and if it reduced artery stiffness after one year. The goal was to see if a larger study is worth doing.
