New lupus drug shows promise in early trial

Summary
This study tested a new drug called cenerimod in 105 people with active lupus. The goal was to see if it safely lowers certain immune cells (lymphocytes) that play a role in lupus. Participants took the drug or a placebo for up to 12 weeks while continuing their usual lupus medications.
