Large-Scale study tests if a common antibiotic is safer for deadly blood infections
NCT ID NCT07186894
Summary
This study is comparing two types of antibiotics used to treat a serious bloodstream infection caused by a common bacteria (MSSA). Researchers are analyzing real-world hospital data from 5,000 patients to see if the antibiotic cefazolin works as well as the traditional standard antibiotics, and if it causes fewer side effects. The main goal is to find out which treatment leads to better survival rates 90 days after diagnosis.
