Summary
This study looks at whether the usual doses of the antibiotic cefazolin given before weight-loss surgery are high enough to prevent infections in obese patients. Researchers will measure drug levels in the blood and tissues of 70 patients having sleeve gastrectomy. The goal is to see if current dosing guidelines need to be updated for better protection.
