Engineered immune cells take aim at hard-to-treat blood cancers in kids

NCT ID NCT04571138

First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests a new treatment for children and young adults up to age 30 whose leukemia or lymphoma has come back or not responded to standard therapy. The treatment uses the patient's own immune cells (T cells) that are genetically modified in a lab to recognize and attack cancer cells carrying a protein called CD22. The study has two parts: the first checks safety and finds the best dose, and the second measures how well the treatment works. About 42 participants will take part.
