Summary

This study tests a group cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) program designed to help young adults who struggle with uncertainty. The program includes techniques like cognitive restructuring and exposure to uncertain situations, and it considers how a person's social environment affects their anxiety. Researchers will enroll 15 university students aged 18-29 to see if the therapy reduces their fear of the unknown and improves emotion regulation.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Cognitive-behavioral group psychotherapy
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a practical, group-based therapy to help people manage anxiety related to uncertainty.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-stage study with only 15 participants, so results may not apply to the general population. The intervention is behavioral, so effects may vary widely.
