First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to standard physical therapy helps people who have had a hip replacement feel less afraid of moving and have less pain. About 100 adults who recently had their first hip replacement and have high fear of movement will take part. One group gets only physical therapy, while the other gets physical therapy plus CBT. Researchers will track fear, pain, and mobility for six months after surgery.
