Phone app trains brain to calm uncontrollable shaking
NCT ID NCT06022393
Summary
This study tested whether a smartphone app teaching cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques could help people with functional tremor, a condition causing involuntary shaking. Twenty patients were randomly assigned to use either the CBT training app or a simpler reflection app for four weeks. Researchers measured changes in tremor severity and patients' own reports of their symptoms and well-being to see if the app-based training was helpful.
