Cannabis-Derived drug tested to tame painful heart inflammation
NCT ID NCT05494788
Summary
This small, completed pilot study tested whether a purified cannabidiol (CBD) solution could help adults with recurrent pericarditis, a painful inflammation around the heart that keeps coming back. The goal was to see if the CBD treatment was safe, could reduce pain, and might allow doctors to reduce the doses of other strong anti-inflammatory drugs like steroids that patients were taking. Researchers monitored 27 participants over 26 weeks to assess their pain levels and overall health.
