Scientists probe link between cannabinoid receptors and chronic face pain

NCT ID NCT06405646

First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the amount of certain receptors (CB1, CB2, TRPV-1) in the blood—which bind to CBD and CBN—is linked to the risk and severity of long-term jaw and face muscle pain. Researchers will compare blood samples and clinical exams from 102 adults with and without chronic orofacial pain. The goal is to better understand the biological factors behind this condition, not to test a treatment.
