Needle injection tested to shrink cat scratch swelling

NCT ID NCT03132116

Summary

This study tested if injecting an antibiotic directly into an infected lymph node, along with standard oral antibiotics, helps people with severe cat scratch disease get better faster. It involved 75 participants with swollen, pus-filled lymph nodes from the disease. Researchers compared the injection to a placebo (saltwater) to see which led to better healing within 28 days.
