Summary
This study tested whether giving cash payments to pregnant women when they use recommended health services increases the number of women who get prenatal care and give birth at a health facility. Over 36,000 women in Nigeria took part. The goal was to reduce deaths of mothers and babies by making skilled care more accessible.
