Tiny incision, big relief? new Ultrasound-Guided carpal tunnel surgery tested

NCT ID NCT04504019

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested a newer, ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release surgery against the standard mini-open method in 41 adults with severe carpal tunnel syndrome. The goal was to see if the ultrasound-guided approach could safely improve symptoms just as well, with a smaller incision and possibly faster return to daily activities. Participants were followed for up to 24 months after surgery.
