Massive 8,000-Patient study tracks Stroke-Preventing stent safety

NCT ID NCT02240862

Summary

This registry aims to monitor the safety and quality of carotid artery stenting, a procedure to open narrowed neck arteries to prevent strokes. It will enroll up to 8,000 patients who are at risk for stroke due to carotid artery disease. The main goal is to track complications like stroke or death within 30 days after the procedure and use this data to help select the most skilled doctors for a larger, related clinical trial.
