NCT ID NCT06098677
First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether taking a daily supplement of three plant pigments (lutein, meso-zeaxanthin, and zeaxanthin) for one year can improve contrast sensitivity—the ability to see subtle differences in light and dark—in healthy Chinese adults aged 35 and older. 220 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the supplement or a placebo. The goal is to see if these nutrients, which naturally occur in the eye, can enhance visual function even in people without eye disease.
