Summary

This study tests whether a low-fat vegan diet and nutrition classes can improve health and lower medical costs for people with type 2 diabetes. Seven hundred Blue Cross Blue Shield subscribers will follow the diet for 16 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, and overall healthcare spending.
