First seen May 21, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026
Summary
This study tested a slow-release version of the drug carvedilol in 63 people with heart failure where the heart pumps normally but is stiff (HFpEF). The goal was to see if the drug could improve heart strain and lower a key stress marker in the blood. Participants had high blood pressure and signs of heart strain. The results may help doctors decide who benefits from beta-blockers.
