New hope for cancer patients with kidney disease: safer CAR t therapy under study
NCT ID NCT05909059
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looks at whether CAR T cell therapy, a type of cancer treatment that uses a patient's own immune cells, can be safely given to people with moderate to severe kidney problems. About 20 adults with certain blood cancers (like lymphoma, myeloma, or leukemia) will receive a lower dose of chemotherapy before the CAR T cells to reduce side effects. The goal is to see how well the kidneys handle the treatment and to monitor for serious side effects like immune reactions or low blood counts.
