CAR-T therapy could open door to kidney transplants for 'Incompatible' patients

NCT ID NCT07350837

First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests a new treatment called AZD0120 (GC012F) in 12 adults with end-stage kidney disease who have high levels of antibodies that make it very hard to find a matching kidney donor. The treatment uses specially engineered immune cells (CAR-T) to target and reduce these antibodies, potentially allowing a successful kidney transplant. The main goals are to check safety and see if the therapy can lower antibody levels enough for transplantation.
